Patients with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy have 'persisting risk', researchers say

Adults with arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy are at high risk of implantable cardioverter defibrillator shocks for up to a decade after implantation, Swiss doctors report.

Results from their small retrospective cohort study suggest the likelihood of implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) shocks was greatest in the first four years of follow-up before slowly declining over time.
