My radio days as the medical expert with the ‘gift of the gab’
In 1982, a producer for the morning show on a local radio station rang AMA Victoria to say they were recruiting people from various professions to be the ‘expert’ on talk-back sessions.
When the AMA received the invitation, then-president Professor Aubrey Pitt rang me and said something like: “You’ve got the gift of the gab. Why don’t you do it?”
