States offer payroll tax relief subject to how much GPs bulk-bill

GP practices in Victoria and SA will be able to partly avoid payroll tax by deducting payments for bulk-billed consultations off their ‘wage’ bill, under new rules from state governments.
The Victorian Government announced on Wednesday that payments from practices to GPs for bulk-billed services would not count towards payroll tax thresholds, starting July 2025.
