Survey: How important is your ‘FRACGP’ postnominal?

Are the ‘FRACGP’ postnominals important — either on a professional or personal level — given the significant intellectual, emotional and financial demands made on doctors to achieve fellowship?
As we have reported, next month, GPs no longer need to complete the RACGP’s CPD program to remain registered as specialists and therefore secure access to a Medicare provider number.
Provided they complete the CPD requirements laid down by the college, from 16 June, they can self-manage their CPD and submit details to AHPRA themselves.
But if fellowed GPs do decide to go it alone and give up their college membership, they risk losing the right to use the postnominal.
