Surgeon who separated craniopagus twins was a med school ‘dropout’

One of the surgeons who recently carried out some of the world’s most complex surgery in separating conjoined twins was a medical school dropout.
Professor David Dunaway, 63, from Glasgow, Scotland, co-led the 100-strong team that separated craniopagus twins Safa and Marwa Ullah, at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
The intricate series of surgeries, performed over four months from October 2018 to February 2019 on the girls from Charsadda in Pakistan, were recently made public.
However, Professor Dunaway said his career got off to a shaky start when he left medical school after failing exams at University College London (UCL).
