Maverick Senator Jacqui Lambie wants public servant salaries capped at $430,000, slamming the fact that top departmental secretaries earn $1 million a year when the Prime Minister earns $600,000.
The financial pecking order is similar in most departments, with the Department of Health and Aged Care reporting that its boss, secretary Blair Comley, is on a base salary is around $871,000.
