A doctor who prescribed compounded medications to vulnerable patients over the phone for both erectile dysfunction and weight loss has shown “genuine remorse” for putting them at risk, a tribunal has found.

Dr Thomas Goyer went before the tribunal in his battle to practice again after being struck off three years ago.

He first made headlines in 2016 when he defended his work at the Advanced Medical Institute (AMI) — the telehealth clinic that advertised its services across Australia with billboards asking: “Want longer lasting sex?”

The clinic reportedly paid $1000 a day to Dr Goyer to prescribe treatments, with the doctor declared himself one of the “most experienced clinicians — not just in Australia but in the world — of speaking to people with impotency concerns”.
