RACGP publishes guidelines for GPs using AI scribes to draft medical notes

The RACGP has published guidelines for GPs using AI to generate medical notes based on recordings of their consultations, warning they could become over-reliant on the technology.
Earlier this year, Best Practice announced it was integrating an AI scribe into its practice software, used by around 25,000 doctors.
The scribe uses a microphone to capture speech during clinical encounters before converting the audio data to construct first drafts of clinical notes, discharge summaries or referral letters.
Best Practice says the technology could potentially save 60-90 minutes of note-writing every day.
