Doctors have warned health officials against hiring more physician assistants to work in public hospitals after a senior bureaucrat hinted it was on the agenda.
Queensland’s new health director-general Dr David Rosengren, an emergency doctor, told the ABC earlier this month that part of Queensland’s workforce strategy was to “examine other providers of healthcare”, which could include physician assistants (PAs).
