Dr Mukesh Haikerwal’s practice is trialling a $50 fee for patients missing appointments as it faces losses of thousands of dollars a week.
The GP and former AMA president says no-shows have risen to around 50 patients a week at his Melbourne practice — equivalent to about $5000 in lost fees.
