Nurse-led clinics to order and interpret their own CT scans, ultrasounds and X-rays

The controversial nurse-led walk-in clinics in Canberra are getting a $11 million boost so they can order CT scans, ultrasounds and X-rays.
The ACT Government’s announcement this week has angered doctors who have already labelled the clinics a waste of taxpayer money.
The government says the cash for imaging will “reduce wait times in emergency and make it easier for the community to access common diagnostic imaging services”.
It is unclear at this stage if the cash will pay for imaging equipment to be installed within the centres themselves.
