MJA backs ‘yes’ vote in Voice to Parliament referendum

The editor-in-chief said the journal was 'firmly of the view' it should support the reform.

The Medical Journal of Australia has pledged its support for the Voice to Parliament, saying current healthcare structures do not meet the needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population.

Editor-in-chief Professor Virginia Barbour said the journal was “firmly of the view” it should support the Voice due to its role advocating for “what is best for Australian health policy and practice”.
