Missing medical student survived 13 days in the Snowy Mountains eating wild berries and two muesli bars

NSW Police have expressed astonishment at Mr Nazari’s 'great condition after all this time'.

A 23-year-old medical student who was missing for nearly two weeks in the Snowy Mountains has been found alive after surviving on foraged berries and two muesli bars.

Hadi Nazari, who is studying at Melbourne University with ambitions of becoming a neurosurgeon, disappeared on 26 December in Kosciuszko National Park, NSW when he parted ways with his two friends to take photographs.

The trio had planned to meet at the Geehi campground, but when Mr Nazari failed to show up, his friends raised the alarm, prompting a massive search involving up to 400 people.

The search teams failed to locate him, although several clues indicated that Mr Nazari might still be alive: hiking poles, campfire remnants, a lighter and a camera.
