Low vitamin D levels tied to severe psoriasis
Lower vitamin D levels are associated with increasing psoriasis severity, suggesting a vitamin D–rich diet or oral supplementation may provide benefit to patients, researchers say.
US authors, who presented their findings at the annual meeting of the American Society for Nutrition in Boston, examined associations between 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels and psoriasis severity among more than 40,000 adults, including 491 psoriasis cases.
