‘It was emotionally difficult for them’: Emergency doctor treated by friends and colleagues after 10 metre fall

Dr Fraser Bliesner has experienced first hand the miraculous impact of a pain team after a shocking 10m fall onto concrete just weeks before he was due to join the anaesthetics training program.
The emergency doctor was fixing gutters on his home earlier in January, wearing a harness, when he heard a crack as the anchor point failed.
“All of a sudden, I was falling and could see the edge of the concrete rushing up towards me,” he says of the accident at his Wollongong home, south of Sydney.
“In that two, three seconds I had while I was falling, I thought, ‘I need to try and roll here and not crumple in a heap.”
