Dr Adam Louws, his wife and four children moved from Brisbane to a town of 500 people.
A joke from Dr Adam Louws’ mother-in-law was ultimately the reason that Julia Creek, a town 600km west of Townsville, nabbed its first permanent GP in a decade.
The place made headlines last year after offering more than $500,000 per annum for a full-time GP to care for its 500 residents.
