A GP has documented the ‘shrinkflation’ of the schedule fee for the standard GP consultation under Medicare, showing the financial reality of its demise over the last forty years.

According to Dr Christian Allen, the headline schedule fee for the standard consult increased from $15.50 in 1984 to $39.75 in July last year.
