A private takeover of a GP practice, which nearly led all five GPs to resign, has been halted after failing to win enough support from the local community.

The board of the community-owned Yackandandah Health, which operates the town’s only GP practice as well as an aged care home and childcare service, was in favour of selling up to national aged care provider Apollo Care.
