GPs abandon kids’ vaccine program after anti-vaxxer campaign leads to death threats
A post on Facebook claimed two children died at Dr Wilson Chin's Gold Coast practice following COVID-19 vaccinations
A GP and his practice have pulled out of the under-12s COVID-19 vax program after receiving death threats when anti-vaxxers falsely claimed two children had died in the waiting room.
The girls had experienced a short vasovagal episode while under observation at the MedCentres Pacific Pines clinic on the Gold Coast last Monday.
They quickly recovered and enjoyed lollies and blowing bubbles, with one of the practice’s GPs, Dr Wilson Chin, keeping an eye on them over the following 45 minutes.
But the next day, it was contacted by members of the local community about rumours that the children had been taken to hospital by ambulance and then died.
