GP academics cramming years of COVID-19 research into days

Doctors in academia are working around the clock to cram years of research into days to get on top of the COVID-19 crisis.
Dr Trisha Greenhalgh, professor of Primary Care at the University of Oxford, UK, has shared a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the frenetic pace of COVID-19 research.
In her regular social media posts, she says emails are “flying” from 4.30am among colleges, practice networks, policymakers and others.
Just 24 hours after being asked by the Royal College of General Practitioners how best to assess dyspnoea over the phone, a rapid systematic review has identified a symptom-based score, and a real-time research study is being set up with a GP research network.
