Govt introduces new MBS item for COVID-19 antiviral phone consults
It will fund phone consults lasting longer than 20 minutes
GPs will once again have access to an MBS item for telephone consultations lasting longer than 20 minutes — but only for assessing patient eligibility for COVID-19 antiviral treatment, the Minister for Health has announced.
Mark Butler says the new MBS telephone item will be introduced next week to help combat rising COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalisations.
