‘Don’t be a clown’: Advice to Aussie doctor who attended coronation

Dr Daniel Nour was part of the small contingent chosen to represent the best of Australian values

A doctor who was chosen to attend King Charles’ coronation has shared the advice given ahead of the big day — don’t be a clown.

Dr Daniel Nour, the 2022 Young Australian of the Year, was among 14 notables chosen to represent the country’s values — caring for others, serving community and championing progress, at Westminster Abbey.

But before heading off, Dr Nour, who founded Street Side Medics, a mobile GP service for the homeless, was briefed with the group on coronation protocol.

“We got briefed by the High Commissioner’s office who took us through essentially what to expect on the day, and what to do, but most importantly, what not to do,” Dr Nour told ABC Radio Sydney on Friday, ahead of the ceremony.
