Doctors warned against ‘promoting’ COVID-19 vaccinations
Even offering expert opinion could fall foul of Australia's ban on advertising prescription medicines direct to the public
Doctors are being told not to post on social media their expert opinion on COVID-19 vaccination if it risks “inducing” an individual to seek out a COVID-19 vaccine.
The bizarre advice has been issued by the TGA which says any public statement that promotes the use or supply of a therapeutic good breaches Australia’s rules on advertising prescription medications to the public.
