Doctors consider strike action but say ‘sickest patients’ will still be treated Â

Poor pay is pushing doctors to the brink of striking, with AMA Tasmania considering work-to-rule action across the public hospital system.
Anaesthetist Dr Michael Lumsden-Steel said a strike could occur as early as next week to protest the lowest hospital pay rate in Australia.
He said the details were secret to avoid tipping off the Tasmanian Government.
But an option was work-to-rule strike action: refusing to do anything outside of agreed hours.
