Doctor struck off for three years for ‘bad faith’ complaints to AHPRA
A doctor has been struck off for three years over bad faith complaints that forced a locum doctor out of work as AHPRA investigated.
The Queensland doctor was found guilty of professional misconduct in April over the false complaints, which included allegations the locum doctor had caused the suicide death of a woman with trigeminal neuralgia by inappropriately ceasing her treatment.
In response, the Medical Board of Australia placed level one supervision conditions on the locum doctor’s registration, forcing him to stop working temporarily.
A job offer in another town was also withdrawn.
