‘Complete disaster’: GP slams unclear coronavirus testing messages
Dr Mukesh Haikerwal is calling for one centralised, national source of advice
Melbourne GP Dr Mukesh Haikerwal has slammed the public messaging on coronavirus testing, saying GPs and frontline health workers have paid the price of the conflicting advice.
Dr Haikerwal, a former AMA president, said he had refused one patient because they did not meet the criteria, only for the patient to call back saying they were told by a government health hotline they should be tested.
