Chills and headaches after a COVID-19 vax a good sign for immunity: study

A one degree increase in skin temperature also predicted a better immune response six months down the line: study.

Patients who report headache, fatigue or fever after their COVID-19 shot may be heartened by findings that show the presence of post-vaccination symptoms may mean better immunity.

US researchers found that side effects of Spikevax and Comirnaty were associated with an almost twofold higher immune response six months after the vaccine.

“These data may help to address the low rate of ongoing vaccine uptake, given that this seems to be at least partly the result of worry about side [effects],” they concluded.

Their study included 363 adults (mean age 52) who had not previously been vaccinated against or exposed to COVID-19, and who received two doses of either mRNA vaccine.
