AusDoc survey: Gap fees, not wait times, the biggest problem with Better Access
Most GPs want 20 mental health treatment sessions a year to be subsidised under Better Access, an AusDoc survey suggests, with gap fees rather than wait times identified as the biggest gripe.
Minister for Health Mark Butler cut the number of treatment sessions on offer from 20 to 10 at the start of the year, saying the extra sessions had clogged up the system and made mental health treatment even harder for patients to access.
