AHPRA under fire (again) over handling of sexual misconduct cases
More than a third of medical practitioners sanctioned for sexual misconduct have been allowed to return to practice, according to a Four Corners investigation
Federal Minister for Health and Aged Care has ordered a “rapid review” of previous attempts to reform AHPRA, in the wake of an ABC investigation into health practitioners allowed to practise after sexual misconduct findings against them.
Four Corners says of the 500 health practitioners sanctioned for sexual misconduct involving patients since 2010, some 160 were able to see patients again.
