Medical Must-See: The pointy end of a coronation BBQ
A barbecue to celebrate King Charles III’s coronation took a sharp and unexpected turn for one unlucky man in a unique case of penetrating foreign body neck injury, UK doctors report.
The patient, in his 60s, presented to ED at Northwick Park Hospital in London with a sore throat, neck pain, dysphagia and mild stridor.
He had reportedly fallen onto the left side of his face at a coronation barbecue party the night before.
But intoxicated with alcohol at the time, he remembered nothing else.
