VR General Practitioner – Pannawonica Medical Centre

About the role:

Pannawonica Medical Centre is seeking a dedicated VR GP to provide high-quality healthcare to the local community. This role involves primary care, emergency response, and after-hours on-call duties in a remote medical setting.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services
• Respond to emergency medical situations as required
• Work collaboratively with a team of Registered Nurses and administrative staff
• Participate in on-call rotations (RNs handle first-response calls)
• Manage patient results and follow-ups

Clinic and working hours:

• Monday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some late shifts until 7:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays)
• Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM (afternoon allocated for results management and admin work)
• On-call requirements: 15 hours outside of clinic hours (shared with RNs)
• FIFO option: GP fly-in/fly-out day is Wednesday

Essential qualifications and experience:

• VR General Practitioner
• Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
• Emergency and trauma management experience (including burns treatment training)
• Minimum five years relevant medical experience
• Competency in primary care, emergency medicine, and remote health

Desirable skills:

• MIMMS (Major Incident Medical Management Support) training
• Experience in paediatrics, women’s health, and mental health
